THE HISTORY OF B C S
A salon full of aromas, a place full of stories
THE GARE MARITIME
In 1910, the quays of the Gare Maritime in Brussels welcomed the first freight trains, probably carrying bags of coffee from the four corners of the world.
These were then transported by cart to their final destination.
Not far away, in the Marolles district as well as Manchester Street, coffee was meticulously roasted. It was here that Brussels' first roasters set up their machines, revealing the enchanting aromas and complex flavors of this precious nectar.
Could it be the same coffee bags? The investigation continues!
114 years later, on this same quay, on October 19th, 2024, the intoxicating aromas of freshly roasted coffee will dance in the air, blending the creative energy and enthusiasm of coffee enthusiasts with the timber and steel architecture of this prestigious space.
The Brussels Coffee Show is an ode to the historic quay that has seen so many bags of coffee arrive at their destination, bringing with them the black elixir that has conquered the world
